Bonchustown is the home . . .

OF retro poster art, referencing mainly the 1950’s & ’60’s. The themes can be many and varied, but often include ‘Kustom Kulture,” nostalgia, rock ‘n’ roll, mid-century modernism, science fiction and outdated social mores. Most of the imagery and typography is in a satiric vein.

“Bonchustown” is the working name of the artist George R. Smith. An inveterate scribbler, calligrapher and cartooner, George has dabbled in pen work, water colour and brush and ink, as well as acrylic paintwork. All original work offered for sale makes use of archival quality inks and paints.

Mission Statement

Bonchustown’s brief is simple:  TAKE OVER THE WORLD!

Ignoring the megalomania for the moment, the goal is to spread the joy of George’s art as far and wide as possible. This includes making his unique designs and concepts available via prints sold at very reasonable prices, whilst still offering the original paintings to the discerning collector of ‘low-brow’ art. As a website and as an artistic entity, Bonchustown is envisaged to be a place of simple pleasure and humour, light-hearted though at times ‘reverse-nostalgic.’ Far removed from the political [over]correctness, rampant technology, globalism and politics of 21st century society.

Privacy and Security

Bonchustown will never sell, or pass on any of your private details to any third party;  and this website does not keep your credit card details. Nor will Bonchustown ever bombard you with excessive emails – there will be promotions but you won’t be sighing at receiving ad after ad-nauseam!

Of course you can opt out of the mail list from the get-go, or any time thereafter, no questions asked. But even if you do, why not still follow Bonchustown on Facebook and/or Instagram and keep tabs on what George is up to?
